The Queensland Fire & Rescue Service (QFRS) Basegrade Firefighter Recruitment process is highly competitive, with large numbers of applicants competing for a relatively small number of positions. However, PATS has assisted over 50 people to gain entry into the QFRS over the past year.

SELECTION PROCESS

If you’re unsuccessful in the aptitude tests, the fitness assessment or physical abilities assessment, you have to wait six months before re-sitting the relevant assessment. If you fail the characteristics assessment there is a twelve month waiting period before you can re-sit.

APTITUDE TESTING SCHEDULE

Both the aptitude tests and the characteristics assessment are conducted in a number of testing locations in Queensland.
